Silent Auction Donations
On behalf of The Wilson Montessori School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), I am pleased to announce our Annual Silent Auction will take place on Tuesday, April 5th, at La Grange Bar and Grill. Please consider supporting our event by donating gift certificates, merchandise and/or services.
Each year, Wilson Montessori PTO hosts an Annual Auction that supports the school’s diverse, student-centered environment. Wilson, a pre-K through 8th grade Title I magnet school, is located in the heart of Montrose and brings the Montessori method of teaching to HISD students.
Since our first classrooms opened just over 10 years ago, the program has grown to over 550 students. In May, we will break ground on a new addition which will allow us to nearly double our student body population, accommodating up to 900 students. Funds raised at our Auction will support gardening classes, field trips, arts education, a robust science program, and specialized training for our teachers.
As you may have seen in recent news, HISD is facing a deficit of $107 million dollars for the upcoming 2016-17 school year budget. A cut like this will most certainly be felt in every classroom in the district. Now, more than ever, it is critical for us to do what we can as a community to help supplement Wilson’s budget. Your gift to the 2016 Auction will have a direct impact on some of the most basic needs of our kids at Wilson.
